Babs Aiyede graduated from the
University of Waterloo with an honours Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology
(1989). Since that time he has worked in the field of Pedorthics. He
has earned
accreditation as both a Certified Pedorthic Technician (2000) and a Certified Pedorthist
(2007) from the College of
Pedorthics of Canada. Babs is a member of both the College of Pedorthics of Canada
and the Pedorthic Association of Canada.
In 1998, Babs worked and trained
with a group of podiatrists and pedorthists in Adelaide, South Australia. This unique
opportunity exposed him to a variety of techniques, approaches, and
perspectives.
Babs' particular areas of
interests include lower limb biomechanics, orthotic therapy, running
injuries, and shoe technology. He has presented seminars on these topics
to a variety of health care professionals, athletic, and community groups
in Toronto and South Australia. Babs is a regular guest lecturer at the University of Toronto
School of Physical Therapy and with many local running groups in the
Toronto area.
Pedorthist: An
individual trained in the manufacturing, fitting, and modification of foot
orthotics and footwear for the purposes of alleviating painful or
debilitating conditions and providing assistance for abnormalities or
limited actions of the lower limb.
