Physiotherapists
are university-educated and licensed specialists focused
on evaluating and restoring physical function and body performance.
Regardless of your level of activity, physiotherapists can help to
identify the causes of injury, decreased function, or disease that may
be affecting your performance and offer advice on rehabilitation
programs to aid in your return to the activities you enjoy.
Physiotherapists at Pivot have detailed knowledge of the human body and
understand the factors that can predispose you to injury, such as poor
posture, poor body mechanics, muscle imbalances, and disease (e.g.,
osteoarthritis and osteoporosis). All of the physiotherapists at Pivot
have completed advanced orthopaedic studies in manual and manipulative
therapy.
You can
either book an appointment directly with one of our physiotherapists or
can be referred by a physician (e.g.your family physician or one of
Pivot's sport medicine physicians). Working alone or in conjunction with our
diverse team of health care specialists, we can offer expertise in
increasing joint movement, muscle strength, endurance, balance and
exercise to help get you moving again.
